I am a visual artist and arts educator based in Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, NYC. My practice specializes in transforming undesirable or neglected spaces into visually pleasing spaces for the public. I believe art can powerfully integrate into communities, acting as a catalyst for positive social change.
My design approach often are stylized figurative with vibrant colors. My work is deeply influenced by the structure of the Buddhist mandala, a form inherently focused on order, balance, and centering a community's narrative. I combine this geometric foundation with contemporary visual language, incorporating elements such as simplified icons, neon motifs, and modern symbols. By arranging visual stories—often derived from local history, cultural elements, or community identity—within a circular or site-specific composition, I transform cold, overlooked surfaces into unique, community-specific visual gateways.
I have created over 10 public murals and installations in diverse settings, including schools, libraries, community centers, and domestic violence shelters. My extensive experience in large-scale, community-driven projects demonstrates a commitment to creating uplifting and enduring art. With over 15 years of experience as an educator, I've seen firsthand how the collaborative process of mural-making can bridge divisions, reduce prejudice, and spread messages of unity.
