I am a visual artist and arts educator dedicated to urban renewal through site-specific public art. My practice specializes in visually redeeming spaces often viewed as undesirable or neglected, transforming functional elements into compelling aesthetic landmarks. I believe art can powerfully integrate into communities, acting as a catalyst for positive social change.

My design approach often centers on a vibrant mural style that is either non-figurative or stylized figurative. When using non-figurative elements, my work is deeply influenced by the structure of the Buddhist mandala, a form inherently focused on order, balance, and centering a community's narrative. I combine this geometric foundation with contemporary visual language, incorporating elements such as simplified icons, neon motifs, and modern symbols. By arranging visual stories—often derived from local history, cultural elements, or community identity—within a circular or site-specific composition, I transform cold, overlooked surfaces into unique, community-specific visual gateways.

I have created over 10 public murals and installations in diverse settings, including schools, libraries, community centers, and domestic violence shelters. My extensive experience in large-scale, community-driven projects demonstrates a commitment to creating uplifting and enduring art. With over 15 years of experience as an educator, I've seen firsthand how the collaborative process of mural-making can bridge divisions, reduce prejudice, and spread messages of unity. My goal is for my public work to serve as a lasting symbol of a community's commitment to self-expression and the arts.
